Kelly & Rob Engaged
Kelly and Rob are a great couple that know how to laugh and make each other smile...even if this means teasing each other relentlessly.
I like that about them.
Kelly and Rob were a lot of fun, and despite the gray day we made the best of it!
It POURED on the highway as I was driving from our apartment and all I could think was UGH!!
We had already rescheduled once due to the cruddy weather and they really wanted that fall look.
By the time we finally picked a day that worked for everyone (including Mother Nature) it was the first week in November.
We headed to a location I knew well and lived nearby too many, many years ago called Buttonwoods or Warwick City Park in Rhode Island.
I love shooting in RI!
It has a huge dog park which is pretty popular, but is also filled with amazing trails, the bay, beautiful tall trees, and these lovely wispy grasses I discovered (score!).
It really is a great park.
So to begin I asked Kelly and Rob to walk over and just "get in the grasses" haha.
Usually by the second week in October the leaves are gone...not a whole lot of prettiness left over.
This fall I was lucky though, it stayed warm for a very long time. It was the warmest fall I can remember. It was still in the upper 60's in late October when it should be 30.
The warmer weather means the leaves stick it out a bit more and hold on just that much longer.
It was however cold the day we shot, but they never once complained. They rocked it!
After I shot Kelly's beautiful ring on the pine cone I found these leaves and thought they were perfect!
Such a pretty shade. I ran over to the woods and snagged this branch.
Then we did a few poses under this Oak tree.
Isn't their giant pumpkin that they painted adorable?
I love when my clients bring their own personality (and props) to the session!
I wonder what the secret was? ; )
Rob and Kelly even brought these cute mini signs.
Then we ended our session by the water.
As we stepped onto the beach the sun peeked out after being cloudy and dreary all day.
I couldn't believe it!
This is THE best kind of light a photographer can hope for...the golden hour.
So...this last part of this session I didn't really plan.
Sometimes unexpected moments can be the best surprises!
As we were driving on our way back to the entrance I spotted these gorgeous red bushes in the woods and a fallen log.
I waved them to pull over and I am glad they did.
They became some of my favorites from the entire session.
I love the red colors of the forrest that make Kelly's Fall sweater pop.
She looked lovely!
I am so sad when fall is over. At the end of each summer I can't wait for the beautiful colors and the cool crisp air.
What a great time to be engaged and in love ; )
